New Ground
Worka Wuri
Earl Grey, Lemon and Elderflower Cordial
Worka Wuri washing station is located near Gedeb town, Gedeo zone, in the SNNP region of Southern Ethiopia.
Over a number of years the region has developed a distinguished reputation for fine coffees, producing some of the most sought-after microlots in world. The combination of high altitude, fertile soil, consistent and plentiful rains, and an abundance of local knowledge are all contributing factors to the high status of Yirgacheffe coffees.
The local indigenous ‘heir-loom’ varietals - which grow wild in Ethiopia - are responsible for the unique flavour notes which make for an unusual but refined cup.
Recommend resting the coffee for 2 weeks to begin experiencing it in its fullness. But we understand if you just can't wait...

NewGround started when a couple of mates wanted to really enjoy every single cup of coffee. We wanted to source new and exceptional coffees and help drive the growing coffee culture in Oxford and The UK.
We also wanted to use the business to help tackle social injustice.
It's well known that prisoners are much more likely to re-offend after release if they are without training and jobs. So a business that creates opportunities has to help, right? We think so, and that’s what keeps us motivated every day. That and sourcing and roasting some of the world’s finest coffees.
